After a conference call on Sunday between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and various state leaders from across Germany, several sources are reporting that a strict ban will soon be in place prohibiting any gatherings of more than two people.

NOTE: Families and those living in the same household are said to be exempt from this rule.

The exact terms of this ban (in addition to its duration) are not yet known, but it is being reported that violators may be subject to a fine of up to 25,000 euros.

This update follows a lengthy list of recent precautionary measures taken throughout Germany to slow the spread of COVID-19, including a two week lockdown period in Bavaria which began on Saturday at midnight.

More on this as it develops.
