The next time you’re passing through FÜNF HÖFE, look up and you’ll see Munich’s latest multimedia art installation: a flock of white, origami doves.
What are these doves all about?
Well, they’re all part of a limited time multimedia installation by Munich artist, Michael Pendry. Titled “Les Colombes”, this aerial sculpture is composed of two thousand origami doves symbolizing peace, which form a 50m long trail along the FÜNF HÖFE ceiling.
Listen closely and you’ll also hear the atmospheric tunes of Munich based electro-pop group, “Digital Haze”.
As part of of Pendry’s “Art for Peace” project, this installation first began in Munich 5 years ago at the Heilig-Geist-Kirche near Viktualienmarkt, before embarking on a world tour including stops like London, Jerusalem, Buenos Aires and San Francisco. They’re now back in Munich for about a month, so don’t miss them while they’re in town!
After all, their next stop is New York, and a flight there would definitely be pricier than an U-Bahn ride.
