Due to a recent decrease in demand on Munich’s public transport system (caused by city-wide school closures, alongside increased home office and social distancing precautions), the MVG has announced several changes to their transport schedule effective Monday, March 16, 2020.
Here are the changes as listed in this official announcement on their website:
- The additional trains that usually run on the U3 and U4 during rush hour will be halted. This means that trains for both lines will only run once every 10 minutes
- The U7 will only run between Westfriedhof and Sendlinger Tor, meaning the section between Sendlinger Tor and Neuperlach Zentrum will not be served by the U7
- Tram 28 (Scheidplatz – Sendlinger Tor) and Tram 29 (Willibaldplatz – TUM) will be suspended
- SchulverstΓ€rker (the additional buses that ran for students on school days) will no longer be running
