Agnesstraßenfest

The street festival in Schwabing’s Agnesstrasse has been going on since 1980. According to the organizers, the Schwabing Tenants’ Initiative is actually the oldest in the city! This year, traffic will be at a standstill for a few hours between Schleißheimerstrasse and Winzererstrasse to accommodate for the fun.

Five live bands will be performing and there will also be a children’s flea market and a children’s program with a bouncy castle and much more!

When: Saturday, June 15, 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Bacherlfest

Known as Munich’s largest street festival for children and young people, this event will be a children’s paradise. Including almost 20 attractions, which are completely free of charge, covering a total of 400 meters. Climbing, bull riding, playing football, skating, and much more are on the program.

When: Saturday, June 15th, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Geyerwally Backyard Festival

Under the motto “Summer, let’s dance!” the team from the cult bar Geyerwally will bring the backyard of Geyerstrasse 17 to life with great music, food and dancing. The backyard festival also traditionally raises money for a good cause, with the money going to the Glockenbach children’s food bank.

When: Saturday, June 15th, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Lesbian Street Festival

A classic part of the Pride month festivities, the Lesbian Street Festival will kick off with a packed program – with music from DJs Doro, JaMi, and ElΓ©ni, information stands, good food, and great people.

Neighbours’ Festival

A worldwide initiative that aims to promote social ties and cohesion, the Neighbors’ Festival has been celebrated in Westend for over 15 years! This year on June 15th at Georg-Freundorfer-Platz will also be the opening event of the 10th Art and Culture Days in Westend.

HochX Summer Festival

The HochX Theater is celebrating summer with a big bash! Kick off with the KuckuX reading series for children followed by a dancing sesh on Mariahilfplatz, street food, drinks, and of course some dynamite DJ’ing!

When: Sunday, June 16th, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Laim District Week

Following the previous week’s festivities at Trudering/Riem. Laim will also be taking its turn with event tents, exhibitions, and a restaurant with a beer garden at Laimer Anger. There will be a big buys program taking place all week long with concerts, theater performances, cabaret performances, exhibitions, hands-on activities, and children’s programs.

Summer Days

This summer festival at Schwabinger Tor is the perfect spot for families. With such highlights as; bouncy castle courses, go-kart races, face painting, balloon artists and giant soap bubbles.

When: Saturday, June 22nd, 12 to 11 p.m.

Munich Pride

Kicking off with the classic pride parade, there is a colorful program in the city center on two stages, a separate party area, and a rainbow family area. But, take it from us, there will be far more popping up, the best way to enjoy is to go with the flow and dance your way through the city!

When: Saturday & Sunday, June 22/23, 12 to midnight or 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Kammerspiele-Straßenfest

This big street festival from the Kammerspiele team takes place with several stages, food, drinks, music and open workshops will take place as the conclusion of “What is the City NOW?” program.

When: Saturday, June 29th, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Falckenbergstrasse

International Fest am Gollierplatz

With an astonishing 45 year run, this multicultural festival takes its support from the joint force of many social organizations, such as the Evangelical Migration Center in the Greek House, the Culture Shop, the Multicultural Youth Center, the Westend Parish Association and the Culture Cellar. Festival goers can expect a bustling stage program filled with live music, information stands and catering with international treats.

July

LMU Uni-Sommerfest

Every first Friday in July, the historic main building of the LMU transforms into a premier cultural event. The summer festival, UniKult’s largest event, spans the atrium, two of the three large courtyards, and a few of the lecture halls. From the early evening well into the morning hours, visitors can enjoy live performances, art installations, interactive workshops, and a diverse array of food and drinks throughout the festival.

Waldheim Sommerfeste

Waldheim will be hosting two separate parties this July! Enjoy an unforgettable day with music from the Derbys Party and Oktoberfest band on July 7th, then the cagey strings on the 28th! For children, there will be a bouncy castle, face painting, and an expanded playground. Special treats are prepared for all. Bring your friends and join us for a wonderful summer day.

Untere Weidenstraße Street Festival

Munich’s smallest street festival has been going for over ten years now! It’s the ultimate date for relaxed people, good mood, great music, a family atmosphere and food and drink at fair prices.

Where: Untere Weidenstraße, 81543 Munich

When: Saturday, July 20, 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Rattlesnake Saloon Street Festival

The Rattlesnake Saloon is once again hosting a summer street festival. SchneeglΓΆckchenstrasse will be closed near the Rattlesnake Saloon, as there will be various stands from local restaurants offering food and drinks. So come early and come hungry! That said, a more detailed program is yet to be announced.

When: Saturday, July 13, 3 to 11 p.m.

West and Hell

The place where cool beer and good music stay, West and Hell is at it again! A full lineup is prepared for the evening; from theatre to drag to disco, the evening promises it all! Place opens at 11:30 but no shoes until 1, so you’ll have time to grab a bite and get settled before the shows start. See you there!

GΓ€rtnerplatz Open Air

GΓ€rtnerplatz will once again become one of the city’s most beautiful summer stages. Enjoy performances by pop singer Loi, jazz trio LBT, the Munich choir OstBahnGroove, and the band Salei & Kellermann. Sunday’s program will feature soloists and the orchestra of the Staatstheater am GΓ€rtnerplatz with highlights from their vibrant repertoire.

August

Munich Sessions Summer Festival

A great annual (and free!) music event in the city center. This year though, it has grown to be a great three day open air music festival-with plenty of cool drinks, tasty eats and over 10 local and international acts

Stemmerhof Summer festival

Enjoy this new summer festival on the first Saturday in August. With food trucks, outdoor bars, live music, short tours, fun games for the little ones and a big raffle. At the raffle you can win vouchers for the local court theater or for the DaOra ice cream truck.

Hans-Sachs-Straßenfest

Dive into the vibrant Hans Sachs Street Festival once more in the middle of August! Enjoy lively music, refreshing drinks, and the pure love that fills the air. Together, enjoy a showcase of diversity and inclusion, with the LGBTQA+ Festival joining once again. Celebrate love in all its colorful glory and create some unforgettable memories!

September

Isarinselfest

Isarinselfest will once again be returning in September! With four stages running from Friday after work until late Sunday evening, the much-anticipated party will have a little something for everyone. Don’t worry, there will also be catering on-site.

Hirschgarten-Sommerfest

Join in for the possibly the last summer festival of the year! Enjoy some delicious ox on a spit while the lively tunes of Gigi Pfundmair and the Hinterberger Musikanten fill the are. From 7 to 10, Roland Hefter and his band Isarrider will take the stage. The evening will conclude on a pleasant note with more entertainment. In case of bad weather, the Hinterberger musicians will keep the spirits high indoors. Don’t miss this delightful event!

Ois Giasing

Just as colourful and diverse as the district itself, this street festival has a wide musical spectrum ranging from dancehall to indie and jazz to hip hop, from newcomers to real legends – there is something for every taste.
