Munich Aperol Spots At a Glance
Aperol And Spritz Spots
Frau Bartels
Only a quick meander from the Fraunhoferstr. Ubahn station, it would be rude not to really. This Glockenbach favourite is a chic minimalist slice of paradise- and if Aperol itself is not your thing this is the Spritz spot for you.
Frau Bartels has a reputation for their delicious home-made syrups (one of our fave combinations is orange, cardamom and cinnamon) which they will spritz up to your heartβs desire. Frau Bartles offers outdoor seating for all your people watching (no reservations for outside) – but if you canβt snag a table outdoors, itβs the perfect place to park up at the bar.
Our go-to drink: FrΓΌhlings Spritz (Mint, lime & camomile flower syrup)
Cafe CrΓΆnlein
If youβre after a Spritz spot in the βif you know you knowβ category – this little cafe in Nockherberg is a well kept local secret. In the day people walk right past this unassuming stone cornice, but at night the game is given away by fairy lights lining its patio and trees.
Romantic, witchy, and the perfect spot to bask in the last few golden hours of the day, CrΓΆnlein is your go to spot for a summery drop – think Aperol Spritz, RosΓ©, and a couple of bespoke signature Spritzes.
Our go-to drink: Mondino Spritz
Fraulein GrΓΌneis
If youβre looking to escape the masses swarming through the Englischer garten, consider this cheeky Fraulein your new best friend. Tucked away near the entrance by Nationalmuseum, this is the perfect pit stop before your summer stroll.
Good if youβre after an ice cream or a snack, great if youβre after a Spritz – this central, leafy hideaway is the perfect spot to refresh yourself and peep the surfers on the Eisbach.
Our go-to drink: GrΓΌneis Sprizz
Transit Rooftop Bar
Transit is an amalgamation of containers, colour, good views, and good vibes – located in the Werksviertel near Ostbahnhof, Transit is the perfect spot to kick off your weekend.
Here youβll find delicious drinks on tap, themed seating areas and DJs spinning some chilled out tunes. With an extensive menu and plenty of space, Transit is a great place to meet friends of if youβre looking to head out with a larger group.
It is a popular spot for good reason, pro tip: make a reservation if there are a few of you heading out.
Our go-to drink: A classic Aperol Spritz paired with a summer sundowner is always our plan here
CafΓ© Paulo e Pini
A little slice of Italian summer awaits in GΓ€rtnerplatzviertel at CafΓ© Paulo e Pini. This location is super cute – with its retro outfitting and neighbourhood charm, itβs easy to sit down and feel like youβre right at home.
Think classic Italiana with a quality array of street food, quality espresso, and tasty chalkboard specials. If you are after a well-balanced, classic spritz or a carafe (or two) of wine – look no further than this beloved neighbourhood spot.
Our go-to drink: Pini Sprizz (Campari, Tonic, Prosecco)
Bar Centrale
Bar Centrale oozes old school, old world Italy with its self proclaimed moniker of βmore Italian the Italyβ. This gem is smack bang in the middle of town (around the corner from HofbrΓ€uhaus MΓΌnchen), stays open late, and is the perfect place to watch the world go by.
Cosy and intimate with a small menu that rotates daily, Bar Centrale is the perfect place to pay homage to the origin of the Spritz and enjoy the summer sun.
Our go-to drink: Lavendel Spritz (prosecco, homemade lavender syrup, lime)
Lost Weekend
If you want to pick up a page-turner along with your Spritz, look no further than Lost Weekend. With rotating artists and live music to boot, this cafe/bookstore/gallery space is beloved by students and creatives of Munich alike.
This quirky, shared space located right by the Ludwig-Maximilian University is vegan-friendly, with a consistently chilled crowd, and is the perfect stop for a spritz or two.
Our go-to drink: Hibiscus Spritz (Hibiscus and Orange Blossom liqueur, prosecco, mint, citrus)
Loretta Bar
Want something a little more upmarket with an inventive cocktail menu? Youβll quickly fall in love with Loretta Bar. Hiding in the outskirts of the old town, Loretta is a trendy hotspot for breakfast and coffee during the day, but weβd also recommend waiting until they whip out their cocktail menu after 6pm.
We love Loretta for a date night – its mood lighting and long hours will have you losing track of time and tastebuds as you take advantage of the excellent knowledge of its bar staff
Our go-to drink: Basil Spritz
Botanista Cafe Club
An oasis of calm and greenery, Botanista Cafe Club sources all of its offerings locally, and prides itself on being refined-sugar free without compromising on flavour.
Located in the Glockenbachviertel, itβs the perfect place to grab a healthy (and delicious) bite and enjoy a refreshing Spritz thatβs not overloaded with sugary syrup.
Botanista is also low key a great spot for a photo opp as you sip your spritz – inside youβll find warm lighting, hanging chairs and swings to perch on, outside youβll find a tropical calm among palm trees and fairy lights. A real passion project, weβd highly recommend taking a moment to Spritz n chill here.
Our go-to drink: Ginger and Lime Spritz
Junge RΓΆmer
Come for the food menu (the homemade pasta and pinsa are both to die for), stay for the spritzes – the menu of Junge RΓΆmer is an homage to Rome – with several delicious offerings to tickle your fancy.
Only a short stroll from the north end of Alter-SΓΌdfriedhof in the Glockenbachviertel, this is the perfect spot for a bite and a traditional leaning spritz.

We canβt write a list about Spritzing without paying tribute to Aperol 1919 Spritzeria at Eataly. Capturing the zeitgeist of the roaring twenties and the origin of our fave summer liqueur, youβll find it hard to walk past this sparkling orange facade.
Located within Eataly (2 minute walk from the Viktualienmarkt), this bar is the perfect place to reward yourself after hard work stocking up on some Mediterranean goodies and snacks.
Our go-to drink: Aperol Spritz (of course)

Known as being the cool and cozy after work spot in Maxvorstadt, Kleiner Kranich is always a great idea for a little wine and brotzeit. However, in summer, it’s pretty ace also for its outside seating and 25β¬ Aperol spritz tree.
And of course, we’d always recommend you pair your aperol tree with one of their signature Flammkuchens (only 9β¬ and a great little sharing snack).
Our go-to drink: The classic Aperol spritz tree of course
