Westend Comedy English Open Mic

See international comedians perform every Tuesday for free! Westend’s coolest bar, Schwarzer Dackel, hosts this event where you can meet locals and expats, enjoy a beer, and have a good time.

If you would like to perform, simply comment “spot” on their Instagram or Facebook post for the show that week. The door opens at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Even when the show is full that night, there is usually plenty of standing space available!

4 Tha Locals Hip Hop

Looking to expand your stage experience or gain new experiences as a Hip hop artist in Munich?

If you’re looking for an event where you can perform your own songs live in front of an audience, try out new material, or even sell some of your own art, 4 THA LOCALS in the Glockenbachwerkstatt is your monthly go to event!

A song slam/contest will also be held along with sets from local musicians, open mics, and merch sales. The coolest part? Admission is free!

Womens Boxing Course

Interested in getting an excellent workout, learning a new technique or simply clearing your mind? Then you should come try out Bellevue di Monaco’s Boxing course for women!

On Tuesdays, Mariposa Boxing Club trainers assist Munich women in finding and exercising their own strengths. No skills are required, nor is a knowledge of German required… Just come in and have fun!

Women refugees are especially welcome to take advantage of this free offer!

Dialog Cafe Free German Language Course

The DialogcafΓ©, held every week, is for everyone interested in learning German, meeting new people, and speaking German. As well as for anyone who wishes to learn more about Munich!

All are welcome, no matter how old you are, or whether you are shy. And most of all, there is no need to worry about knowing many German words if you don’t already.

Everyone there is happy to help and support all fellow language learners in a fun, safe space!

The Wine Store Launch Party

The dynamic duo Max and Moritz of the Wine Store in Viktualienmarkt are launching a special new project. And to celebrate its successful completion, they are inviting everyone over to try it out…for free!

That’s right! Free wine at the Viktualienmarkt! (who would have thought!). They will be releasing their new wine line Max & Moritz Streiche, and for the launch event on Friday, the first 20 bottles served will be covered by them!

So make sure to pop by while they are available to grab your free glass and some fun!

St. Patricks Day Festival

In 2023, Munich is thrilled to host the St. Patricks Festival Parade Party (and pre-party) after it was cancelled for two years!

Munich’s Irish community celebrates this two-day festival in celebration of Irish culture. A parade, music, and other events will take place from noon to 6pm on Saturday, March 11, followed by a pre-parade party, and ending on Sunday with the 2,5 km parade and additional open air events.

On the second Friday of every month, listen to free sets by brand-new or experienced DJs in the chill, local atmosphere of Backstage. Who knows, maybe you’ll get a chance to hear the leading DJs of tomorrow, and experience their start first-hand!

In Reitkencht 6, DJ’s can apply for a slot in their small living room to play their own sound for half or the whole night. Each party will be open to all guests free of charge and will offer DJs an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and show their own sound.

Fitzroy Unplugged

Every first and third Tuesday of the month, you can head over to the top of Werksviertal and enjoy some live music sessions at the Fitzroy Bar.

In this intimate space, local artists perform from 9pm onwards. If you want a great drink or just somewhere to relax after work, this is the place to go – the liquid tiramisu is tastiest of all…in case you need a recommendation.

Salsa Night In Gasteig HP8

Hall E in HP8 is an ideal dance floor: The salsa nights at HP8 are a big hit and always free to attend!

Salsa y Corazon’s dance professionals provide participants with a first-hand glimpse into the stylistically very diverse world of Salsa. Couples and singles alike are welcome to join in to practice or learn something new!

From 8pm onwards, you can enjoy a salsa party with DJ Hec. The dance floor offers a special atmosphere for all levels of dance enthusiasts until midnight. Or if you’re ready for a break, you can simply watch the action from the higher galleries in Hall E.

Sewing Workshop

In Untergiesing, a sewing workshop has been created almost exclusively from donated sewing machines, furniture, and materials, and is now open to fellow sewers.

On Fridays, beginners and advanced sewers are all equally welcome! An introductory workshop will introduce you to all the machines in detail so that you will be able to work independently in the workshop.

Linea and Ina are there to support you in sewing (or learning). With their design and sewing skills, they are happy to help you upcycle, re-sew or even make your own pieces.

Jazzlabor At BahnwΓ€rter Thiel

Head over to enjoy an evening of jazz at BahnwΓ€rter Thiel with a somewhat different feel.

Jazzlabor focuses on genre experimentation provided by the University of Music & Performing Arts Munich and the Neue Jazzschool MΓΌnchen e.V., both state-approved vocational schools for rock, pop & jazz.

And after the concert concludes, there will be an open jam session for anyone inspired to join in on the jazz!

Watch out, bargain hunters! Twice a year, Munich’s mountain enthusiasts have the opportunity to haggle over used mountain sports equipment at the Alpine flea market at Sugar Mountain.

Whether you’re interested in climbing, ski touring, or hiking – here you will find a wide selection of excellent, affordable equipment, clothing, alpine mountaineering literature, and maps.

And after the treasure hunting is done, you can even sit back and enjoy a well-deserved beverage in the Sugar Mountain Biergarten!

Free Entry Haus Der Kunst

Every last Friday of the month is an Open House with free admission from 4 to 2 pm. In addition to art, it is a place for encounters and creative exchanges.

During Haus Der Kunst Open Haus, you are welcomed with (family) guided tours and a program open to all ages. For now, the resource is only available in German, but if you are not keen on the language aspect, don’t worry! Exhibits can still be explored for free.

When: Friday March 31, 2023 // 4p.m-10p.m
