Augustiner Bräustuben: A Quick Overview
Augustiner Bräustuben. The best beer in Munich for 2.75 a pint. And Schweinsbraten for under 10 euro. Need I go on…?
Augustiner Bräustuben: The Food
The food at Augustiner Bräustuben, as to be expected of any Bavarian brewery restaurant, serves all the classics from Pork knuckle to Käsespätzle. We opted for the Schweinsbraten and the creamy mushroom bread dumplings. The food whilst not blowing us away, was tasty and hits the spot if you’re craving some Bavarian delicacies.
It goes somewhat without saying that the food is not overly healthy, but is hearty enough to line your stomachs for a day of drinking…
Augustiner Bräustuben: The Price
…and at 2.75 a pint it easy to lose the whole day here. Both the our meals were less than 10 euros and the rest of the menu hovers around 10-15 euros. With the food and drink so reasonably priced, this is definitely the sort of place to come with a few friends for an “oh god it was only supposed to be a couple” type of evening.
Service at Augustiner Bräustuben
The Service was typically Bavarian. Tell the servers what you want and they bring it to you. You may have to really wave to catch their attention mind as this place gets seriously busy at peak times. Luckily they have a link on their website where you can reserve a table in advance. http://www.braeustuben.de/reservierung/
Ambiance at Augustiner Bräustuben
The place itself has a traditional beer hall feel to it, with large wooden tables and benches made of old beer barrels (it’s comfier than it sounds), the main hall is very Bavarian indeed.
They also have a rooftop terrace which is perfect for spending a summers evening, although located just around the corner from Hackerbrucke don’t expect too much in the way of stunning views.
Augustiner Bräustuben: The final verdict
The Augustiner Bräustuben is a great place to indulge in your Bavarian cravings. Cheap and with the best beer in Munich, this should definitely be on your list. Located at Hackerbrücke , and just around the corner from the Wiesn, this place is perfect for getting your Augustiner fix after a long journey, or enjoying the traditional atmosphere of a beer hall when you can’t find a seat at the Oktoberfest.
