Beautiful bored people of Munich – guess what? After almost a year out of commission, the fountains at Karlsplatz/Stachus are set to be BACK again next week!
According to the official Muenchen.de website, the fountains will once again dazzle us with their moisture (gross sounding sentence, but just roll with it) from September 3rd onwards. It has been almost a solid year since repair works began with the fountain, an extensive repair job which involved replacing over 500m of pipes and 200 nozzles.
And what did this reno cost? Apart from countless disappointed tourists, the total cost for the project is pegged at 1.5 million euros.
… So, the next time you see it, be sure to appreciate the heck out of this expensive fountain.
