Our personal favourite – make sure you head in early as the seats here fill up fast. This is Munich’s oldest open air cinema, located at the ampitheatre Seebühne in Westpark.
This is our top spot to catch the latest summer blockbusters, Oscar nominees and some extra special events like a Rocky Horror Show night!

Located in the Olympiapark – relax on one of the comfy deckchairs or spring for a 2 person loveseat and enjoy. If you’re not feeling super confident with your German, this cinema is a great shout as they also run a lot of English film options.

Open-Air-Kino am Königsplatz
If you like to settle back and enjoy something brief and wonderful in the city center, check out this limited open air cinema experience.
For only a brief week, Königsplatz gets a quick kino takeover. With a packed variety of plans, including family activities and live music- there’s also a variety of food and drinks to choose from at their food truck beer garden.

Drive In Kino Aschheim
Dial it back old school and literally park up at this drive-in. You won’t be stranded, nor branded a fool (bonus points for the reference).
If you want to shake it up and experience a slightly different variation of the open air cinema, this Autokino has a wide range of classics and a few new surprises to choose from.

Starnberg FS Film Festival
Catch the S-Bahn to Starnberg and enjoy this festival which celebrates feature, documentary, and short films from around central Europe – great films, beautiful landscapes, and top-class panel discussions for the movie buffs among you.
