4 Fun Places to Celebrate Fasching in Munich on Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday is just around the corner, which means a few things… 1) Fasching is sadly almost over and 2) It’s time to PARTY! So, are you wondering where to get your final doses of Fasching fun for the year? Here are some ideas…

1. Tanz der Marktweiber (Dance of the Market Women)

Address: Viktualienmarkt

Time: 9:30am, but the party continues until 7pm!

What to expect: An array of performances including a special performance of the Schäfflertanz, which only happens every 7 years. The highlight is of course the choreographed dance performance from the female stall-owners of Viktualienmarkt, a tradition that has been going on for over 30 years.

2. The München narrisch

Address: From Stachus to Viktualienmarkt

Time: 10:30am, performances start at 12

What to expect: A 3 day street party in the Altstadt stretching from Stachus to Viktualienmarkt with performances, live music, DJs and more on three stages at Stachus, Richard-Strauss-Brunnen and Marienplatz.

3. Shrove Tuesday Party at the Ratskeller

Address: Ratskeller

Time: 6pm-1am; ticket office opens at 4pm

Cost: 17.50€ per person

What to expect: Endless costumes, 3 dancefloors, 7 bars, and one of the best known Fasching parties in Munich! Tickets are first come first serve, so get here early.
